10 Ecommerce Tools Every Shopify Store Should Use

Victor MecoJune 26, 2026 9 min read

Introduction

Apps and tools are not the same thing. Apps install inside Shopify and usually charge a monthly fee. Tools are external websites that solve one specific problem — often for free. This guide focuses on tools.

Below is a stack of ten tools that I think every Shopify store should know about. Many of them already live in the MCO Hub Tools category, others are simply too useful not to mention.

1. TokComment

TokComment generates realistic TikTok-style comment sections. You use it to mock up screenshots for ad creatives, landing-page social proof and pitch decks.

Why it matters: ad creatives that include a screenshot of glowing comments often outperform plain product shots, especially on TikTok and Reels.

2. TweetGen

TweetGen does the same job as TokComment but for tweets. Useful for mocking up testimonials or reactions for ads, emails and landing pages.

Use it whenever you want to add a screenshot of a tweet to your store without breaking copyright by lifting a real one.

3. StoreBuild AI

StoreBuild AI generates a complete Shopify store from a single prompt — products, copy, collections and layout. Free to use.

It is not a replacement for human judgement, but it is by far the fastest way to get a usable Shopify store in front of you so you can iterate from there.

4. Shopify €1/month

Not strictly a tool, but the Shopify €1/month for three months partner deal removes the cost of testing a new store idea.

Use it to validate a brand or category before committing real budget.

5. Canva

Canva remains the workhorse of ecommerce creative. The MCO Hub template collections clone directly into Canva — ad templates, email templates and more.

If you only adopt one design tool, make it this one.

6. Google Analytics 4

Free, powerful, and the source of truth for what is actually happening on your store. Pair it with Shopify analytics rather than relying on one alone.

7. PageSpeed Insights

Speed kills conversion. PageSpeed Insights highlights what is slowing your store down — large images, unused JavaScript, heavy fonts.

Run it on your product pages every few weeks, especially after installing new apps.

8. Google Search Console

Free, essential, and ignored by most store owners. Search Console tells you exactly what queries bring people to your store and which pages are indexed.

9. Loom

For customer support, onboarding, and explaining things to suppliers, async video beats long email threads. Loom is the fastest way to record one.

10. MCO Hub itself

Worth saying explicitly: the Shopify Liquid library, Canva templates, Tools category and partner deals on this site are themselves a tool stack you can lean on for free.

Conclusion

A good tool stack is small. Pick the ones above that fit your workflow today, add new ones only when you hit a clear problem they solve. Avoid app bloat — every new monthly fee is a tax on your margin.
